UNIVERSAL STUDIO JAPAN- OSAKA (All You Need to Know)

Osaka- Universal Studio Japan

USJ's Food and Shopping District

Ever heard of Universal Studio Japan (USJ)? Who hasn't right? USJ is the 4th most visited theme park in the world, is a place where people around the world can escape and experience together a whole new world of fantasy, surreal imagination and adventure.
Friends, if you intend to visit USJ in the near future, everything you need to know will be listed in this article. Hope it helps!

1. Tickets

You can purchase USJ ticket directly from the ticketing booth outside the entrance gate or you can get it from respective local travel agencies in your country or online. p.s purchasing your tickets beforehand will help you save time and energy from waiting in lines. For the price they have different types of entrance tickets check out https://www.usj.co.jp/e/ticket/ for more.

2. Operational Hours

Unlike many theme parks, USJ's  operational hours vary on day to day basis, so its best to check  https://www.usj.co.jp/e/parkguide/calendar.html before embarking on your journey to the theme park.

3. Language

The theme park workers understand and speak good english/mandarin. Due to Chinese tourists inflow most shops in Osaka employ mandarin speaking SA. However, since most Japanese don't understand good English nor Mandarin, all audio is created in japanese language since 80-90% USJ visitor are mostly Japanese!

3. Food and Drinks

Never ever bring too many outside foods and drinks! Moderate amout of foods and waters are allowed, by foods I mean snacks. Onigiri and 2-3 bottles of water is fine, but do not ever bring heavy meal such as McD burgers and stuffs. There are many restaurants outside and inside the theme park, just make sure you get your hand stamped for double entry.

p.s Dont forget to try the famous Harry Potter's Butter Beer <3

4. Make a to-do list

The park is not that big but its always packed with people, especially during the holidays. hence it might be impossible to conquer all the rides. therefore, it is only wise to come up with a list and stick to the plan rather than wasting time wondering around which rides do you intend to try.

p.s Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey inside Hogward's castle have longest queue time compared to other rides (usual waiting hour is around 120 min)

If you are confused which rides you should conquer first, here's a list of my favorite rides :

1. Hollywood Dream

In my opinion this is the coolest ride ever! 2 reasons to love the ride; it can move backwards or forwards (different lanes). You can also listen to musics while enjoying the thrill, it somehow makes you kinda relax.

2. The Flying Dinosaur
Ever know the feeling of flying ? I bet you don't! If your curiosity kills or you need some kind of adrenaline boost I suggest you try this ride. No words can explain how exciting it feels to fly 3.600 feet above the ground!

3. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (4D)
The ride allows you to experience moments with Harry Potter and folks, even though they speak to you in Japanese :D
4. The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman
Another worth the try 4D ride, here it's the Spidey talking to you in Japanese lol! Besides, you can also experience real water splash and fire as he takes on NY city's most dangerous villains.

Meet and Greet with Hello Kitty
(I dunno why Sanrio is part of USJ?)

Happy Minion Family (cutest family ever!)
